Our Traveling Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2016

By May 5, 2016October 8th, 2017No Comments

It’s time once again to spoil your traveling moms! Whether the mom in your life is outdoorsy or fancy, loves to fly international or go hiking in your hometown, you’ve got to get her something she loves. Forget about traditional gifts like flowers or chocolates; you can really make her day by getting her something that appeals to her fun-loving traveling side. Don’t forget the handmade card, however. Those never go out of style.

Thermos 24 Ounce Hydration Bottle with Connected Smart Lid

Whether mom is the active sort who hikes every weekend or is an active traveler who is always jet setting, staying in shape is likely important to her. With the plethora of smart watches now on the market, FitBits are still on top. They now come in different colors, sizes, features, and price ranges so everyone can have one. One downside to the app, however, is that you’ve got to track your own food and water consumption. Who’s got time for that?

Now tracking has been made even easier with Thermos water bottles, which are designed to work with the FitBit app to keep track of your water intake for you. With this insightful gift, mom can easily make sure she’s meeting her daily goals whether she’s on the road or not.

Born Women’s Flats

I’m always struggling to find a stylish travel shoe. Always. I hate to wear my sneakers in the airport because first of all, I’d like to be more stylish than that, and secondly, anything that can’t slip on and off instantly is not worth the effort.

Born’s women’s flats are just one in a full collection of shoes that were made with comfort and style in mind. The slight heel and high-quality leather adds to the feminine look while the rubber sole keeps things comfy.

Planet Camping Duvet Suit

This is some really special. My mother is always cold – no matter if we’re on a beach vacation or skiing up in the mountains. A lot of the times we want to enjoy the outdoors, but it’s a bit too chilly to really relax around a campfire or on the RV deck. Lucky, Planet Camping offers an extremely warm ‘duvet suit’ that acts as a portable, wearable comforter. You can slip into it quickly with a drawstring waistband and even roll up sleeves if you need to cool off for a second. Mom can easily take a quick snooze and feel snug as a bug whether on a camping trip or planning your next trip at the house. It’s outer layer is made of 100% cotton and comes with its own carrying pouch.

Steamline Luggage

Luggage is pretty run-of-the-mill stuff. Every company out there has a different version of the same thing — except Streamline. Their gorgeous collections include many different colors of vintage suitcases with a more modern twist. Let mom travel back in time when she travels the globe in both comfort and style. Each collection has enough pieces to get mom everything she needs whether it’s a full set or just a carry on. Now, all that’s left to decide is if mom’s a Diplomat or an Entrepreneur? Decisions, decisions.

 SmartClean Sonic Toothbrush by Brio

Those sad little travel toothbrushes just don’t cut it. I’ve often considered bringing a sonic brush with me when on a trip, but it seemed like a bulky or inconvenient option. I also know my mom missed her own toothbrush when she traveled too. However, Brio’s SmartClean Sonic Toothbrush is pretty perfect for travelers, as it is compact and has a battery that lasts up to six weeks. There’s no need to pack the charger, just the sleek brush itself. It cleans like no other and is one of the most innovative one on the market, with more than 30,000 brush oscillations per second. It comes with a two-year warranty as well in case Mom does happen to drop it in the ocean on her Caribbean getaway.

Osprey Packs Women’s Tempest 9 Backpack

I’m not a huge fan of everything pink, but this hiking pack is sexy. You can’t go wrong with any of the colors. More importantly than the color scheme, however, is that this hiking backpack is ideal for mom’s who like to get active on day trips. It’s light and easy to travel with, yet it still has room for all the essentials like water, snacks, a cell phone, maybe some diapers and wipes. Unlike most other daypacks, this one is specifically designed to fit a woman’s body, so she won’t have to worry about the hip strap falling in the wrong place or squished boobs because the chest strap was made for men generally.

Even if your mom or wifey isn’t a big hiker, this pack is great for any day trip: the zoo, the park, the aquarium, the children’s museum, you name it. So keep mama active with a backpack that was built for her.

Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Cube Set

If your mom or wife is obsessed with keeping things organized, it might be time to hop on the packing cube train. Yes, she can be a good packer without them, but imagine how efficient she’ll be with them! I won’t lie to you, there are about a zillion options out there as packing cubes are a big new trend, but the ones from Eagle Creek are high quality, affordable, come in a variety of colors (green for me please!), and have more sizes than you realized that lady in your life could possibly need.

Planning any special trips for the mother in your life this year? Think about getting her something fashionable so she feels as beautiful as you know she is.
